Occupation:

I was a senior project manger in the Property and Facilities Business of Royal Mail but took early retirement in 2005 after 34 years service . Currently doing something completely different to keep active, am working on a country estate in Thorpe le Soken in Essex as part of a team restorating listed gardens as part of long term project which will also see the restablishment of state of the art health spa in the grounds

Playing experience:

Started as an 8 year old in the YP band at Carlisle Citadel, moved to London and played in the senior bands at Barking and Ilford together with the East London Divisional Youth Band. Around this time was also a founder member and played with Redbridge Brass now southern area champions. Married in my mid twenties and moved to Ipswich and played with Ipswich Citadel Band. Now divorced and none active in SA circles for some 10 years. Currently principal trombone with the Essex Police Band which does not contest but carries out about 20 - 25 engagements a year supporting official Police functions and Essex based charities. The band has strong connections with the SA and contains a number of current and ex Salvationists not least the MD Keith Manners who is BM at Southend Citadel and a former member of the ISB.  I am also now playing with Brass Impact.

Other hobbies:

Football,am a season ticket holder at portman road and enjoy watching Ipswich Town. Visit the driving range occasionally but never quite seem to make the golf course ! Running  have  done the marathon a number of times but getting a bit past it now. Enjoy the theatre when the opportunity presents.

favourite food:

Will give most foods a try (am a bit too partial to the occasional indian or chinese) but when pushed will always go for the good old fashioned roast as my favourite

favourite movie:

Haven't really got a favourite but do enjoy all the Bond movies and the Star Wars series.
